## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT (CFI) THOUGHT HE HAD AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. HE STATED THE FLAPS WOULD NOT GO DOWN. A WITNESS STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS HIGH AND FAST WITH 10-20 DEGREES OF FLAPS. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 600 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RWY. THE AIRCRAFT PORPOISED AND BOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES ON THE WET RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED HE USED FULL BRAKES WITH NO FLAPS, BUT WAS UNABLE TO STOP. THE AIRCRAFT OVERSHOT THE RUNWAY ENDING UP 190 FEET FROM THE THE RUNWAY ASPHALT. THE AIRCRAFT WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND BOTH WINGS IMPACTED TREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13LA095](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13LA095), Dec 20, 2012: Cessna 150J (N50757), Indian Trail, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor’s failure to maintain adequate glidepath and airspeed control during short final approach and the airplane’s improper touchdown point, which resulted in a runway overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
