## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

12/22/2012, 06:20 EST; PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KPHL) REPORTED, CHAUTAUQUA AIRLINES FLIGHT 4752, AN EMB-145LR, SERIAL NUMBER 145355, N277SK RETURNED TO KPHL. THE FLIGHT CREW NOTICED AN ELECTRICAL ODOR SHORTLY AFTER TAKE-OFF AND SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED A "LAV SMOKE" EICAS MESSAGE ASSOCIATED WITH A MASTER WARNING INDICATION DURING INITIAL CLIMB. FURTHER, THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT STATED THAT THE GALLEY SMOKE DETECTOR SOUNDED, SHE NOTICED AN ELECTRICAL ODOR, AND THE REAR CABIN APPEARED TO BE HAZY. THE FLIGHT CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED AT PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TAXIED OFF RUNWAY 27L, DISCHARGED ALL AIRCRAFT ENGINE, APU AND CARGO FIRE BOTTLES. THE CAPTAIN INFORMED THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT TO EVACUATE ALL PASSENGERS. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT INITIATED THE EVACUATION OF ALL PASSENGERS ON THE TAXIWAY, WHERE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PERSONNEL WERE WAITING. THE ESTIMATED TOTAL TIME TO EVACUATE THE PASSENGERS WAS NINETY (90) SECONDS. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT STATED THAT ALL PASSENGERS WERE EVACUATED USING THE MAIN CABIN ENTRY DOOR AND SERVICE ENTRY DOOR. THE OVER WING EXISTS WERE NOT USED, AS THE CAPTAIN DID NOT DEEM IT NECESSARY. THIS AIRCRAFT IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH SLIDES AND NO EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTIONS WERE NOTED. THE PASSENGERS WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE TERMINAL, NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED, AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE GATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
