## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 22, 2012 AT APPROXIMATELY 1243Z (0743 LCL) FLIGHT CWC460, OPERATED BY SKY LEASE I, INC. USING AIRCRAFT N951AR LANDED AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, RUNWAY 27 AND WAS CLEARED TO THEIR RAMP LOCATED AT THE WESTERN CARGO "U". AT APPROXIMATELY 1305Z (0805 LCL) THE PILOT ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT RADIOED THE TOWER AND NOTIFIED THE CONTROLLER THAT THEY HAD LOST A PIECE OF METAL OFF THE AIRCRAFT AND REQUESTED TO HAVE RUNWAY 27 INSPECTED. THE RUNWAY INSPECTION DID NOT REVEAL ANY FOD.

AN ON SITE INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONDUCTED BY INSPECTORS FROM THE MIAMI FSDO (SO29) ON DECEMBER 22, 2012 WHICH REVEALED THAT A PANEL HAD BEEN LOST FROM THE NUMBER 1 ENGINE PYLON DURING THE COURSE OF THE FLIGHT. THE FLIGHT CREW WERE INFORMED OF THE MISSING PANEL BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL WHO DISCOVERED IT DURING A POST FLIGHT WALK AROUND. THE FLIGHT CREW SUBSEQUENTLY INFORMED THE MIA TOWER AND REQUESTED THE RUNWAY BE INSPECTED. PLEASE REFERENCE PTRS SO29201303532 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
