THE ENGINE FAILED AND APPARENTLY SEIZED. AS THERE WERE NO AIRPORTS WITHIN GLIDING DISTANCE, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND IN A CLEARING. HE DID NOT REACH THE CLEARING AND CRASHED INTO TREES.
