## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A LOCAL TRAINING FLIGHT AT THE GROSSE ILE AIRPORT (KONZ) IN GROSSE ILE TOWNSHIP, MI ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 24, 2012 AT APPROXIMATELY 1:10PM EASTERN TIME, A 1965 CESSNA T210F, S/N T210-0018 (N210MR) FIXED WING, SINGLE ENGINE, HIGH-WING AIRCRAFT MADE A LANDING WITH THE GEAR LEFT IN THE RETRACTED POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 4 AND CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY WITH MINOR DAMAGE AND NO INJURIES.

THE PILOT-FLYING WAS OCCUPYING THE LEFT SEAT AND WAS RECEIVING INSTRUCTION IN COMPLEX/HIGH PERFORMANCE AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS AND DID NOT YET POSSESS COMPLEX/HIGH PERFORMANCE AIRCRAFT ENDORSEMENTS TO ACT AS PILOT-IN COMMAND. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, WHO WAS OCCUPYING THE RIGHT SEAT, WAS ACTING AS PILOT-IN COMMAND DURING THIS TRAINING FLIGHT. BOTH PILOTS REPORTED BECOMING DISTRACTED WITH CONVERSATION DURING THE FINAL APPROACH AND REPORTED THAT THE GEAR HORN DID NOT SOUND DUE TO THEIR HIGHER THAN NORMAL POWER SETTING TO CORRECT FOR A LONGER THAN NORMAL FINAL APPROACH.

NEITHER PILOT WAS INJURED.

THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND UNDERSIDE OF THE FUSELAGE.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
