## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FROM THE STATEMENT PROVIDED FROM THE CREW, THE PIC WAS PILOTING THE AIRCRAFT DURING TAKE-OFF FROM ATL ENROUTE TO NRT. THE SIC REPORTED HEARING A ?THUMP? WHEN HE RAISED THE GEAR. ONCE THEY RAISED THE FLAPS, A SLIGHT VIBRATION WAS OBSERVED AND MEMBERS OF THE CREW WENT DOWN TO INVESTIGATE. THE CREW CONTACTED THEIR OCC AND ALSO SPOKE WITH THEIR MAINTENANCE CONTROL. AFTER RUNNING THROUGH THE AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS, THE DECISION WAS MADE TO CONTINUE WITH THE FLIGHT. APPROXIMATELY 5-6 HOURS INTO THE FLIGHT DURING A CREW REST EXCHANGE, THE CREW WENT BACK DOWN TO INVESTIGATE THE VIBRATION SINCE ONE OF THE CABIN CREW HAD COMMENTED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS ?TICKLING THEIR FEET?. DURING THIS RE-LOOK INTO THEIR SITUATION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE VIBRATION HAD GOTTEN WORSE AND THE DECISION TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT ANC. DURING THE FLIGHT THERE WERE NO COCKPIT INDICATIONS OR FAULTS OF THE AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
