## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 12, 2013, AT APPROXIMATELY 10:30 CST, THE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS DEPARTED ON RUNWAY 36, AT SAN ANGELO REGIONAL AIRPORT (SJT), IN A CESSNA 172, REGISRATION NUMBER N5956A. IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND THE RPM WAS SURGING BETWEEN 1500 AND 1900 RPM. THE PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON KNICKERBOCKER ROAD ADJACENT TO THE AIRPORT. NO INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS, NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, AND NO DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
