## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INCIDENT- AT FL240, RIGHT ENGINE THRUST DEGRADED TO 60% N1, N2 SURGING CAUSING AIRCRAFT YAWING, FOLLOWED BY N1/N2 SPIKE TO THRESHOLD PEAK. NO POWER LEVER CONTROL (RETARD/ADVANCE) FOR 30+ SECONDS. FINALLY ABLE TO REDUCE POWER OFF N1 PEAK TO 60% FOLLOWED BY N2 INDICATION OF 0.0. RT ENGINE SURGING CEASED/STABILIZED. AFFECTED ENGINE KEPT AT 67.0% N1 UNTIL LANDING DTW. EMERGENCY DECLARED BY CREW INTO KDTW, AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
