## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 01/28/2013, N41TF, A LEARJET LR-45 AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A PRIMARY TRIM FAILURE AND SECONDARY TRIM FAULT. CLIMBING THRU FL 190 THE (PIC) ENGAGED THE AUTOPILOT AND WITHIN 30 SECONDS RECEIVED AN "AP ELEV MISTRIM" CAS MESSAGE, FOLLOWED BY ?PRI TRIM FAIL?, ?MACH TRIM FAIL?, ?SEC TRIM FAULT? CAS MESSAGES. THE FLIGHT CREW FOLLOWED APPLICABLE ABNORMAL PROCEDURES FOR EACH CAS MESSAGE. THE CREW WAS ABLE TO RECOVER SECONDARY TRIM AT WHICH TIME THEY DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND RETURNED TO RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, VA WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DETERMINED THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER ACTUATOR FAILED, REPLACED IT AND PERFORMED A SATISFACTORY ACCEPTANCE FLIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
