## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

TOUCH AND GOS TO PRACTICE CROSSWIND TECHNIQUES. THIRD TOUCH AND GO, WINDSOCK AND TETRAHEDRON OBSERVED TO SHOW LIGHT RIGHT CROSSWIND. AT TAKEOFF AFTER THIRD LANDING, INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT LOW-LEVEL WINDSHEAR WAS ENCOUNTERED JUST AS AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO ROTATE. NOSE LIFTED AND RIGHT WING CAME UP RAPIDLY, CAUSING LEFT WING TIP TO CONTACT GROUND. FULL RIGHT AILERON AND RUDDER APPLIED PRIOR TO CONTACT. AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT, STRIKING A RUNWAY LIGHT AND DISTANCE REMAINING SIGN. DAMAGE TO LEFT AILERON AND WINGTIP. NOSE AND SIDE OF FUSELAGE DAMAGED FORM CONTACT WITH SIGN. DAMAGE TO LEFT WING LEADING EDGE FROM CONTACT WITH RUNWAY LIGHT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA124](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA124), Feb 13, 2013: Beech B19 (N2059L), Ephrata, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the takeoff ground roll in crosswind conditions, and the flight instructor's delayed remedial action.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
