## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 02/13/2013, PILOT/SOLE OCCUPANT ATTEMPTED TO LAND AT A PRIVATE RANCH LANDING STRIP. THERE WAS A PLOWED STRIP OF LAND NEXT TO THE NORMAL LANDING STRIP. CLAIMING THE SUN BEING IN HIS EYES, PILOT MISTOOK THE PLOWED AREA FOR THE LANDING STRIP. PILOT WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT IN THE PLOWED SOIL. AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER. PILOT DID NOT REPORT THE ACCIDENT. FAA BECAME AWARE ON OR ABOUT 03/13/2013 THROUGH A THIRD PARTY. AIRCRAFT HAD ALREADY BEEN MOVED TO HOUSTON WHEN FAA BECAME AWARE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13CA206](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13CA206), Feb 13, 2013: Cessna T206H (N7824G), Sabinal, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to properly identify the airstrip, which resulted in him landing the airplane off of the airstrip in soft soil causing the nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
