## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N32CA WAS PREPARING TO DEPART THE RAMP AT GRAND ISLAND REGIONAL AIRPORT AFTER A REFUELING STOP ON ITS ROUTE FROM MDW TO BJC. THE PILOT WAS PERFORMING THE PRE-TAXI CHECK LIST WHEN THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO ROLL. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT IN THE DISTANCE FROM WHERE IT WAS PARKED ON THE RAMP AND THE BUILDING, APPOXIMATELY 70 FEET, AND THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED OFF OF THE RAMP CONCRETE ONTO THE GRASS AND CONTACTED THE FBO REFUELING OFFICE BUILDING. WHILE ROLLING THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, FEATHER THE PROP AND BEGIN A TURN. THESE ACTIONS, HOWEVER, WERE NOT INITIATED SOON ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE AIRCRAFT FROM ROLLING INTO THE BUILDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13LA171](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13LA171), Feb 13, 2013: Piper PA46 (N32CA), Grand Island, NE, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain airplane control after engine start.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
