## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE FLIGHT WAS FROM SYDNEY TO SFO. THE FLIGHT HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT MODERATE TURBULENCE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. A FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS ON SCHEDULED BREAK IN THE CREW REST AREA. DURING A PERIOD OF SMOOTH AIR SHE LEFT THE BUNK TO USE THE LAVATORY. WHILE SHE WAS WALKING THROUGH THE CREW REST COMPARTMENT, THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED SUDDEN TURBULENCE AND SHE WAS THROWN INTO THE AIR. SHE LANDED ON HER ARM AND INJURED HER WRIST. SHE RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION ON BOARD FROM A PHYSICIAN, AND OCCUPIED A PASSENGER SEAT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FLIGHT. UPON LANDING SHE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED HER WRIST WAS BROKEN IN TWO PLACES.
