## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS LANDING THE AIRCRAFT ON RUNWAY 20 WITH A CROSSWIND FROM THE RIGHT AND TOUCHED DOWN LEFT OF CENTERLINE. TIRE TRACKS INDICATE THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED A MINIMUM OF 4 TIMES. EACH SET OF TRACKS WERE PROGESSIVELY CLOSER TO THE LEFT EDGE OF THE RUNWAY, THE CLOSEST OF WHICH WAS APPROXIMATELY 4 FEET. THE TRACKS THEN INDICATE TRAVEL BACK TOWARD THE CENTERLINE AND GET NARROWER, INDICATING THE AIRCRAFT SPINNING AROUND TO THE RIGHT. TWO GOUGES IN THE RUNWAY SURFACE INDICATE CONTACT FROM THE LEFT WHEEL RIM AND TWO ADDITIONAL GOUGES FROM THE PROPELLER. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13CA141](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13CA141), Feb 20, 2013: Cessna 180 (N9411C), Halifax, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to land in gusty crosswind conditions, which resulted in a loss of airplane directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
