## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEB 27, 2013 AT ABOUT 1100 AM LOCAL TIME DURING DE-ICING OPERATIONS OF AIRCRAFT N983SW, FLIGHT 3278, A DE-ICE TRUCK STRUCK THE AIRCRAFT. AS THE TRUCK WAS COMING AROUND THE NOSE OF THE PLANE, THE BOOM OPERATOR HAD HER BOOM POSITIONED OUT TOWARD THE NOSE TO SPRAY THE NOSE AND THE TOP OF THE FUSELAGE. WHEN SHE SAW THE BOOM WAS GETTING CLOSE TO THE PLANE, SHE TOLD THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK TO STOP. WHEN HE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE, THE TRUCK SLID FORWARD ABOUT A FOOT AND A HALF. AT THIS POINT SHE WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE BOOM OUT OF THE WAY. THE BOTTOM OF THE BOOM HIT THE PLANE ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD ON THE F/O SIDE CAUSING MINOR DAMANGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
