## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT TOOK OFF FROM RWY. 26 (TCY) HEADING TOWARDS DIABLO MOUNTAIN RANGE WITH EVENTUAL INTENTION OF HEADING TO BYRON AREA. WHILE CLIMBING TO STAY ABOVE THE TERRAIN PILOT OBSERVED THE LOCAL UTILITY POWER STATION TO THE NORTH AND DECIDED TO HEAD WEST TO AVOID POWER STATION. AS PILOT BEGAN TO CLIMB TO A SAFER ALTITUDE THE PARACHUTE CONTACTED HIGH VOLTAGE TRANSMISSION LINES RESULTING IN AIRCRAFT FALLING AND IMPACTING TERRAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA136](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA136), Mar 2, 2013: Buckeye Dream Machine (N7193K), Tracy, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to see and avoid power lines during a climb.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
