## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LEFT FROM JQF, RUNWAY 02 AND AFTER HAVING PRACTICED STEEP TURNS, SLOW FLIGHT, AND ILS APPROACHES THE PILOT RETURNED BACK TO JQF. THE JQF CONTROLLER INSTRUCTED THE PILOT TO REPORT RIGHT MID-FIELD FOR RUNWAY 02. AT ABOUT 7.5 MILES OUT OF JQF AND AT 2500MSL ALTITUDE THE PILOT REVIEWED THE BEFORE DESCENT CHECKLIST, STARTED TO DESCENT, LEVELED OFF AND WENT THRU BEFORE LANDING CHECKLIST AND LANDING CHECKLIST. AFTER THE CONTROLLER CALLED THE PILOT AND TOLD THE PILOT HE COULD START HIS BASE LEG FROM HIS POSITION WHICH WAS ABOUT 3 MILES NORTHEAST OF JQF THE PILOT WAS ABOUT MIDFIELD WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. THE LANDING GEAR GREEN LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. THE PILOT, AT THIS POINT, DIMMED THE NAV PANEL LIGHTS BUT STILL DID NOT HAVE A GREEN LIGHT. THE PILOT RECYCLED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE AND THE GEAR LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE PILOT CALLED JQF TOWER AND REPORTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE LANDING. THE PILOT LOOKED AT THE MIRROR LOCATED ON THE LEFT ENGINE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT LANDING GEAR WAS EXTENDED. THE PILOT TOLD THE ATC CONTROLLER THAT HE COULD SEE THE FRONT LANDING GEAR DOWN AND ASKED THE CONTROLLER IF HE COULD SEE THE LANDING GEAR EXTENDED? THE PILOT WAS CLEARED FOR A LOW APPROACH AND CAME DOWN THE RUNWAY AT 900 MSL. THE ATC CONTROLLER TOLD THE PILOT THAT THE LANDING GEAR SEEMED TO BE DOWN AND THE PILOT WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 02. THE PILOT PROCEEDED TO LAND AND AFTER TOUCHING DOWN ON THE RUNWAY THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE AIRPLANE ON THE RUNWAY UNTIL THE AIRPLANE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
