THERE ARE INDEX MARKINGS ON THE FACE OF THE CRANKSHAFT FLANGE INDICATING "IN" AND "OUT". A DIAL INDICATOR READOUT OF THE CRANKSHAFT FLANGE FACE INDICATED THE CRANKSHAFT FLANGE WAS OUT BY POSITIVE 30 THOUNSANDS OF AN INCH AND NEGATIVE FIFTY SEVEN THOUSANDS OF AN INCH. THE TAPERED SHIM WAS APPROXIMATELY THE THICKNESS OF A NICKEL COIN ON THE THICK SIDE AND NEAR PAPER THIN ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE.
