THE PILOT INDICATED HE WAS ON ABOUT A 4- MILE FINAL INTO THE DAVENPORT,IOWA AIRPORT WHEN THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE LOST POWER. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE; HOWEVER,THE RESTART WAS UNSUCCESSFUL.THE PILOT ELECTED TO PERFORM AN EMERGENCY OFF AIRPORT LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN A FARM FIELD SOUTHWEST OF THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE.

THE INVESTIGATION AND THE INTERVIEW WITH THE PILOT REVEALED THAT THERE WAS FUEL IN BOTH MAIN FUEL TANKS AND THE PROPER TANK WAS SELECTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
