## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS DEPARTING HIS OWN PRIVATE AIRSTRIP AND COLLIDED WITH A ROCK DURING THE TAKEOFF ROLL. HE STRUCK THE LEFT MAIN GEAR AND TAIL WHEEL CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE MAIN GEAR, TEARING THE TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY FROM ITS MOUNTS, AND A LARGE TEAR IN THE ALUMINUM ON THE RUDDER. THE AIRSTRIP IS SHORT AND HE WAS NEAR FLYING SPEED SO HE CONTINUED THE TAKEOFF AND CONTINUED ON TO LEWISTON, IDAHO. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HAS OPERATED OFF THIS AIRSTIP FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS WITHOUT INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
