## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE DAY BEFORE THE ACCIDENT FLIGHT A LINE SERVICE TECH (UNCERTIFICATED PERSON) HAD TOWED THE AIRCRAFT AND SUBSEQUENTLY BROKEN THE TOW LUGS OFF THE SCISSOR'S PIN. THE LINE SERVICE TECH REMOVED THE BROKEN PIN FOR REASONS UNKNOWN. HE INFORMED THE MECHANIC ON DUTY A NEW PIN WAS NEEDED BUT DID NOT TELL HIM HE HAD REMOVED THE PIN.

THE DAY OF THE FLIGHT THE PILOT ASKED THE MECHANIC ABOUT THE BROKEN TOW LUGS. THE MECHANIC TOLD HIM THE AIRCRAFT WAS "GOOD TO GO" AS IS. THE LINE SERVICE TECH WAS NOT ON DUTY THAT DAY AND THUS THE REMOVED PIN WAS NOT DISCOVERED PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
