## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ON DOWNWIND FOR RUNWAY 13 AT LXL AT APPROXIMATELY 800' AGL. PILOT PULLED BACK THROTTLE TO REDUCE POWER. ENGINE WENT TO IDLE. PILOT THEN PUSHED THROTTLE IN TO ADD POWER AND THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN ENGINE RPM. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CONTINUE THE LANDING AND STRUCK A GATE IN THE FENCE LINE ABOUT 600 FEET SHORT OF RUNWAY 13 THRESHOLD. UPON STRIKING THE GATE, THE AIRCRAFT BECAME INVERTED AND CONTACTED THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET BEYOND THE GATE AND THEN SLID APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET WHILE INVERTED. BOTH PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO NOTABLE INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13CA262](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13CA262), Apr 26, 2013: Engineering & Research 415-C (N94305), Little Falls, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the airplane's throttle cable.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
