## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED HE WAS ON A STABLE APPROACH TO LANDING. HE STATES HE TOUCHED DOWN STRAIGHT, THERE WAS A SLIGHT HOP, HE PLACED PRESSURE ON THE TOE BRAKES, POSSIBLY MORE PRESSURE ON THE LEFT SIDE, BUT NOT COMPLETELY SURE. THE PILOT STATES THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED QUICKLY TO THE LEFT, HE APPLIED RIGHT RUDER TO TRY TO CORRECT IT, THEN DECIDED TO LET IT CONTINUE STRAIGHT RATHER THAN SIDELOAD THE AIRCRAFT WITH TOO MUCH CORRECTION. THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED OVER A CONCRETE DRAINAGE AREA, HIT A SIGN, AND CAME TO A STOP ON A TAXIWAY. THE SIGN TORE A 12 INCH HOLE THROUGH THE LEFT WING SKIN, BROKE A SKIN STIFFENER/ STRINGER INSIDE THE WING. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE SPAR, OR AIRCRAFT IN GENERAL.

STUDENT RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL 3 HOURS OF GROUND TRAINING FOR GROUND HANDLING AND 1 HOUR OF FLIGHT TRAINING CONDUCTING TAKE OFFS AND LANDINGS. THE STUDENT HAS SOLOED AGAIN SINCE THE INCIDENT AND STATED HE FEELS CONFIDENT IN THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
