## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 5/01/2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 1800 CST, A HI-FLY AIRLINES (29HF) AIRBUS A-330, REGISTRATION # CS-TFZ, OPERATING AS LOT POLISH AIRLINES (LOPF) FLIGHT 002, CLIPPED THE WING TIP OF A LUFTHANSA (LU7F) MD-11, REGISTRATION # D-ALCG. TWO INSPECTORS FROM THE O'HARE FLIGHT STANDARDS DISTRICT OFFICE ARRIVED ON SITE AT THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL AT 1945.

THE LU7F AIRCRAFT HAD A CREW OF TWO ONBOARD, WITH NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE RIGHT TRAILING EDGE OF THE RIGHT WINGLET AND OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 10 INCHES FROM THE TOP OF THE WINGLET. CONTRACT MAINTENANCE WAS WORKING WITH LU7F ENGINEERING FOR DAMAGE ASSESSMENT.

INCIDENT OCCURRED ON TAXI-WAY UNIFORM AT THE RUN-WAY 14L "HOLD" BOX. THE LU7F AIRCRAFT WAS SITTING ON THE HOLD LINE AND THE HI-FLY LOT CHARTER AIRCRAFT APPARENTLY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH CLEARANCE TO SAFELY MANEUVER AROUND THE LU7F AIRCRAFT. THE NTSB ON DUTY INVESTIGATOR WAS CONTACTED BY CHICAGO CITY OPERATIONS REPRESENTATIVE AND HE DETERMINED THAT HE WOULD NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT AT THE SIGHT OF THE INCIDENT.

## Other aircraft in the event

- CS-TFZ, Airbus A-330-243: no report for this aircraft in the release

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
