## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 1, 2013, A BEECHCRAFT A36, N1568Y, EXERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER DURING THE INITIAL DESCENT TO INDIANAPOLIS METROPOLITAN AIRPORT (KUMP), AND LANDED IN A FIELD NEAR INGALLS, INDIANA. DURING THE INVESTIGATION, THE LOSS OF POWER WAS FOUND TO BE CAUSED BY FUEL STARVATION. FUEL STARVATION WAS CONFIRMED BY DRAINING THE LEFT FUEL TANK AND EXTRACTING ABOUT A QUART OF FUEL, THE UNUSABLE FUEL IS PLACARDED AT THREE GALLONS, WHILE THE RIGHT FUEL TANK WAS NOTED AT APPROXIMATELY 35 GALLONS. THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS THEN TESTED AND THERE WERE NO DISCREPANCIES WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. THE PRIVATE PILOT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING SPAR AND NOSE GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
