## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 5/5/2013, AT 0323Z, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A NORMAL TAKEOFF WITH 2 PASSENGERS FROM RUNWAY 26 AT JNU. THIS WAS THE PILOT'S FIRST FLIGHT IN APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS WHILE THE ANNUAL INSPECTION WAS BEING CONDUCTED ON HIS AIRCRAFT. REPORTED WINDS WERE 300/05. AFTER THE PILOT APPLIED FULL POWER AND BEGAN THE TAKEOFF ROLL HE NOTICED THAT HE SEEMED TO BE TRAVELLING FASTER THAN USUAL AND NOTICED HIS AIRSPEED INDICATED AROUND 60MPH. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO YAW TO THE LEFT AND THE PILOT FAILED TO CORRECT THE CHANGE IN DIRECTION. THE AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, WENT DOWN THE EMBANKMENT, AND CAME TO REST AT THE EDGE OF THE FLOAT POND. AT THIS POINT THE PILOT REALIZED HE HAD FORGOTTEN TO LOWER FLAPS PRIOR TO TAKEOFF, WHICH IS HIS NORMAL PREFERENCE. UPON POST ACCIDENT INSPECTION, THE POWER WAS STILL IN THE FULL POWER POSITION.
