## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 6, 2013 1307 CDT AIRCRAFT N171HQ AN EMBRAER ERJ 190-100 IGW, SERIAL NUMBER 19000197 EXPERIENCED A SLAT FAIL MESSAGE ON THE EICAS DURING CLIMBOUT FROM DCA. THE CREW FOLLOWED PROCEDURES TO VERIFY SLAT POSITION AS RETRACTED DESPITE THE SLAT FAIL INDICATION. CREW ADVISED ATC (KANSAS CITY CENTER) OF AN EMERGENCY DECLARATION AND ASKED THAT THEY RELAY INFORMATION TO OMAHA, AND HAVE EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT STAND BY. AIRCRAFT LANDED AT OMAHA EPPLEY AIRFIELD WITHOUT INCIDENT AND TAXIED TO THE GATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
