## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS HAS BEEN DOWNGRADED TO AN INCIDENT DUE TO NEW EVIDENCE, PICTURES I RECEIVED FROM THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT WHO WERE ON SCENE. THE AIRCRAFT HAD VERY LITTLE DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE LANDING, IT WAS MOSTLY CAUSED BY THE TREE REMOVAL PROCESS.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED RUNWAY 17, AT APPROX 500 AGL THE ENGINE SPUTTERED ONCE THE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE PILOT TURNED RIGHT TO ATTEMPT TO RETURN TO THE AIPORT, BUT DUE TO BOYSCOUTS IN THE AREA HE MANEUVERED THE AIRCRAFT TO ATTEMPT TO REACH A DIFFERENT LOCATION ON THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT ABLE TO REACH THE AIRPORT AND THE PILOT MAINTAINED CONTROL AND THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED INTO THE TREES APPROX 1000 FT SHORT OF THE AIRFIELD. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
