## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PASSENGER EXITED AIRCRAFT ON R/H SIDE AND WALKED INTO PROPELLER WHILE ENGINE WAS IDLING. THE PASSENGER WAS BRIEFED ABOUT ENTERING AND EXITING THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE REAR OF THE AIRCRAFT WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING.

PILOT YELLED TO PASSENGER AS SHE EXITED THE AIRCRAFT AND TURNED TO THE LEFT INSTEAD OF THE RIGHT BUT DID NOT RESPOND TO HIS YELLING.

THE PASSENGERS LEFT ARM WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13LA248](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13LA248), May 18, 2013: Cessna 172N (N4702F), Geneva, FL, no damage. Probable cause: The passenger’s failure to adhere to the pilot’s instructions to stay away from the front of the airplane when the engine was operating.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
