## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTED LOSS OF POWER AT 11,000 FEET ABOUT 10 MILES NORTH OF THE GONZALES, LA AIRPORT (L38). THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, STARTED A DESCEND, AND REQUESTED VECTORS TO THE CLOSEST AIRPORT. THE CONTROLLER VECTORED THE AIRCRAFT TO L38. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AROUND 1625 AND REPORTED DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT FROM LANDING SHORT OF RUNWAY 17.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
