## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 5/25/2013, AN EXPERIMENTAL AIRPLANE, N3932D, FLIPPED ONTO ITS BACK DURING LANDING ROLLOUT DUE TO EXCESSIVE WHEEL BREAKING. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED TO RELEASE AFTER INITIAL BRAKE APPLICATION BECAUSE THE PARKING BRAKE LEVER WAS NOT FULLY DISENGAGED. WHEN THE AIRSPEED SLOWED AND ELEVATOR EFFECTIVENESS WAS LOST, THE TAIL CONTINUED TO RISE RESULTING IN A FORWARD SOMERSAULT. THE PILOT AND ONE PASSENGER WERE NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA259](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA259), May 26, 2013: Dressen Escape LS (N3932D), Fruitland, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control during the landing roll as a result of the parking brake lever not being positioned in the full off position.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
