## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, INSTRUCTION WAS BEING GIVEN IN THE AIRCRAFT ON A PRIVATE GRASS STRIP. AS THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING THE TAKE-OFF ROLL, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO DRIFT SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE. HE OVER CORRECTED TO THE RIGHT AND THEN OVER CORRECTED TO THE LEFT. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TOOK THE CONTROLS TO CORRECT BACK TO THE RIGHT. DURING THIS PROCESS, THE AIRCRAFT HAD ACCELERATED TO TAKE OFF SPEED SO THE INSTRUCTOR ROTATED OFF OF THE GROUND SEVERAL FEET AND THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED VEERING TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED A SMALL HILL JUST OFF THE LEFT EDGE OF THE RUNWAY BREAKING OFF THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL. THE AIRCRAFT SPUN TO THE LEFT, THE PROPELLER CONTACTED THE GROUND AND THE LEFT WING TIP. THE AIRCRAFT SLID UP THE HILL FOR APPROXIMATELY 75 FEET AND CAME TO REST. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT SUSTAIN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
