## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TAKEOFF THE GEAR WAS CYCLED TO THE UP POSTION. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE NOSE GEAR HAD AN UNSAFE INDICATION. THE CREW THEN FLEW PAST THE TOWER TO COMFIRM THAT THE GEAR WAS UP, TOWER DID CONFIRM THE GEAR WAS UP, BUT THE NOSE GEAR DOORS WERE STILL OPEN. THE CREW THEN CYCLED THE GEAR DOWN, AND THEN DID ANOTHER FLYBY OF THE TOWER. TOWER CONFIRMED THE GEAR WAS DOWN BUT IT APPEARED THE NOSE GEAR WAS TURNED ABOUT 60-90 DEG TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE CREW THEN FLEW FOR ANOTHER HOUR TO BURN OFF FUEL. AT TOUCHDOWN THE NOSE WHEEL WAS STILL AT ABOUT 90 DEG. THE NOSE SKIDED DOWN THE CENTERLINE OF THE RUNWAY FOR APROXIMATLEY 1000 FEET. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMEGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OTHER THAN THE NOSE TIRE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
