## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DESCENT FROM 6000' PILOT REPORTED APPLYING CARBURETOR HEAT, YET ENCOUNTERED LOSS OF POWER WHEN LEVELING OFF AT 3000'. PILOT DIVERTED TO NEAREST AIRPORT. APPROACH WAS HIGH. PILOT ATTEMPTED A GO AROUND BECAUSE OF MISJUDGING ALTITUDE ON APPROACH. UPON APPLYING FULL POWER ENGINE DID NOT DEVELOP FULL RMP. PILOT TURNED LEFT TO AVOID TREES AT END OF RUNWAY AND AIRCRAFT STALLED RESULTING IN UNCONTROLLED DESCENT AND IMPACT WITH TREE, AND THEN HOUSE, AT THE NW END OF RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA252](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA252), May 31, 2013: Cessna 172A (N7701T), Eatonville, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power due to carburetor icing and the pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during a go-around, which resulted in a stall.

## Other reports on N7701T (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19821218067429I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19821218067429I), Dec 18, 1982: Cessna 172A (N7701T), Alliance, NE, Minor damage. Wind picked up right wing and forced left wing to the ground during a static engine runup. Propeller damaged.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
