## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS STUDENT PILOT DEPARTED THE ELLENVILLE AIRPORT AFTER A "PRACTICAL TEST" DISCONTINUANCE. SHE DEPARTED SOUTHWEST ON RUNWAY 22, AND MADE A LEFT TURN TO AVOID OVERFLYING A SCHOOL JUST BEYOND THE AIRPORT BOUNDRY (THERE IS AN ESTABLISHED PROCDURE FOR THIS). SHE APPARENTLY DECIDED TO CLIMB UP THROUGH WHAT LOOKED LIKE A PASS (TO CLEAR A 2000' AGL RIDGE), HOWEVER SHE WAS UNABLE TO OUT CLIMB THE RAISING TERRAIN. WHEN SHE REALIZED A CRASH WAS IMMINENT, SHE STALLED THE AIRPLANE AND FELL INTO THE TREES.
