## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 06/01/2013 THE PILOT IN COMMAND OF N787AK WAS MAKING AN INTENTIONAL LANDING ON A NARROW DIRT LANDING STRIP KNOWN AS RED CREEK. THE AIRCRAFT OVERSHOT THE INTENDED LANDING POINT, STRUCK THE LEFT WHEEL ON SOME BRUSH WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO YAW HARD TO THE LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND SIDEWAYS ON THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR WHICH COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE RIGHT WING ON THE GROUND CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THEN CAME TO REST ON THE NOSE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA256](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA256), Jun 1, 2013: Cub Crafters CC11-100 (N787AK), Payson, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain aircraft control during the landing flare with a quartering tailwind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
