## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT ON CLIMB TO 11,500 FT FOR JUMPERS, ENGINE FAILED AT 6500 FT ON LEFT TANK. SWITCHED TO RIGHT TANK WHERE FUEL WAS REGISTERING. HE TRIED TO RESTART WITH BOOST PUMP SELECTED TO LOW. HE WAS UNABLE TO START AND SELECTED BOOST PUMP TO HIGH AND HAD A SUCCCESSFUL START AT 6000 FT. HE CONTINUED TO 11,500 FT AND FLEW OVER DROP ZONE AND JUMPERS DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. HE DECENDED TO 2300 FT AND TURNED FOR 2 MILE LEFT BASE FOR RUNWAY 20. AT THIS TIME HE PERFORMED GUMPS CHECK AND SWITCHED TO LEFT TANK (FULLEST TANK). ENGINE RAN FOR 60-90 SECONDS THEN QUIT. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED GROUND 20 SECONDS LATER 200 FEET SHORT OF RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13LA330](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13LA330), Jun 1, 2013: Cessna TP206B (N3350J), Sturgeon Bay, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper reselection of the left fuel tank, which had an obstructed vent system and resulted in a total loss of engine power during the approach for landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
