## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE CFI WAS SIMULATING AN ENGINE-OUT EXERCISE WHILE CONDUCTING A BI-ANNUAL FLIGHT REVIEW. THE PRIVATE PILOT RECEIVING THE FLIGHT REVIEW INADVERTENTLY STALLED THE AIRCRAFT. THE CFI IMMEDIATELY TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS KNOCKED OFF WHEN IT STRUCK THE GROUND DURING THE STALL RECOVERY.

THE CFI PERFORMED AN EMERGENCY LANDING ADJACENT TO RUNWAY 34 IN THE GRASS.

THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF THE EMERGENCY LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13CA261](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13CA261), Jun 1, 2013: Beech A23-24 (N650VX), La Grande, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control and the flight instructors failure to monitor the pilot during a simulated emergency landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
