## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 12, 2013, N2249U, A ROCKWELL S-2R SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE DURING A FORCED LANDING APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES SOUTH OF BOISE CITY, OKLAHOMA. THE PILOT WAS SPRAYING A FIELD AND NOTICED THE ENGINE POWER WAS STARTING TO DEGRADE AND DECIDED TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT 3 MILES AWAY AND DEPARTED THE FIELD. WHILE ENROUTE ENGINE POWER CONTINUED TO DEGRADE. THE PILOT TURNED BOOST PUMP ON AND THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. THE PILOT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A ROUGH FIELD AND THE LANDING GEAR PARTIALLY COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED, CAUSING STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO GEAR ATTACH POINTS AND TWISTING THE TAIL IN GROUND LOOP. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13LA390](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13LA390), Jun 12, 2013: Rockwell S-2R (N2249U), Boise City, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The total loss of engine power for reasons that could not be determined because postaccident examination of the engine and fuel system revealed no anomalies.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
