## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOTS WERE FLYING TOGETHER IN N15GG. WITNESS REPORT SOUNDS OF AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO BE IN A MANEUVER JUST BEFORE HEARING AIRCRAFT IMPACT. AIRCRAFT IMPACTED GROUND IN NEARLY A STRAIGHT DOWN ATTITUDE. WRECKAGE WAS CONTAINED IN AN APPROXIMATELY 40 FOOT DIAMETER OF THE AIRCRAFT. BOTH PILOTS DIED OF INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE ACCIDENT. THE OWNER OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN THE LEFT SEAT BUT WAS NOT QUALIFIED TO ACT AS PILOT IN COMMAND DUE TO MEDICAL CONSIDERATIONS. THE COMMERCIAL, INSTRUCTOR PILOT IN THE RIGHT SEAT WAS QUALIFIED BUT NO CLEAR EVIDENCE IS AVAILABLE TO INDICATE WHICH PILOT WAS AT THE CONTROLS AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. NO CLEAR EVIDENCE EXISTS AS TO ANY MECHANICAL OR STRUCTURAL FAILURE TO THE AIRCRAFT. AS BOTH PILOTS PERISHED IN THE ACCIDENT NO ACTION IS APPROPRIATE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13FA269](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13FA269), Jun 12, 2013: Graves SH-2F (N15GG), Montague, CA, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control while maneuvering for reasons that could not be determined during postaccident testing and examination, which resulted in a stall and subsequent spin.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
