## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS OFFICE ARRIVED AT THE ACCIDENT SITE AT APPROXIMATELY 1330 HOURS TO INVESTIGATE N3452R. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN A WHEAT FIELD TEARING OFF THE NOSE GEAR AND BREAKING OFF THE LEFT WING FLAP CONNECTING ROD. ON IMPACT THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UPON CHECKING THE LEFT WING FUEL TANK THERE WAS A SUFFICIENT QUANTITY TO TAKE A SUMP SAMPLE FOR CONTAINMENTS, NONE NOTED. THE RIGHT WING FUEL TANK DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT QUANTITY TO TAKE A SUMP SAMPLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13LA285](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13LA285), Jun 13, 2013: Beech A23 (N3542R), Oxford, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure to comply with an airworthiness directive by maintenance personnel and incorrect reinstallation of the fuel selector handle by unknown personnel, which resulted in fuel starvation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
