## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PILOT AND ONE PASSENGER WERE TAKING OFF AT DAYTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. AT ABOUT 50 FEET AGL THE PILOT REPORTED THE AIRCRAFT WAS YAWING TO THE RIGHT. HE REPORTED HE WAS UNABLE TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT WITH THE RUDDER. HE REDUCED POWER TO LAND, BUT WAS OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, SO HE ELECTED TO LAND ON AN ABANDONED RUNWAY PARALLEL TO THE ONE HE HAD DEPARTED. HE ADDED POWER TO GO OVER A DITCH, HIT A SLIGHT RIDGE ON TOUCHDOWN, SEPARATING THE NOSE GEAR FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED A SIDE LOAD WHICH COLLAPSED THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP WITH NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR PASSENGER.
