## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK POWER LINES AT AN ALTITUDE OF 300 FEET AGL. THE WIRE CONTACTED THE AIRCRAFT FORWARD OF THE LEFT WING AND ENGINE FIREWALL. THE LINES WERE MARKED WITH ORANGE BALLS FOR VISIBILITY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE GROUND MOSTLY INTACT 250 FEET PAST THE WIRE STRIKE. PILOT WAS KILLED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13LA283](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13LA283), Jun 23, 2013: Extra 300/LT (N169TM), Adrian, OR, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's improper decision to conduct low-level maneuvering in a river canyon with power lines, which resulted in his failure to maintain clearance from the power lines.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
