## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING APPROACH TO LANDING ON RUNWAY 18, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN SHORT OF THE PAVEMENT. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED ONTO THE PAVEMENT AND THE TAIL WHEEL WAS KNOCKED LOOSE FROM THE TAIL WHEEL SPRING AS IT MADE CONTACT WITH THE LIP OF THE RUNWAY PAVEMENT. WITH THE TAIL WHEEL WAS STILL ATTACHED TO THE AIRCRAFT BY THE STEERING SPRINGS, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AS IT CAME TO A STOP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
