## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT IMPACTED FENCE AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 34 AT THE ALBANY AIRPORT. THE PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT RESULTING IN A RUNWAY EXCURSION PRIOR TO WHERE THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE FENCE.

THE PILOT REPORTED DIFFICULTY BRAKING. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. A BROKEN ELBOW FITTING WAS FOUND ON THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR BRAKE ASSEMBLY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR13LA322](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR13LA322), Jul 7, 2013: Piper PA-28-235 (N8606W), Albany, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of hydraulic fluid, which rendered the brakes ineffective. The reason for the loss of hydraulic fluid could not be determined based on the available evidence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
