## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT HAD JUST FINISHED APPLYING CHEMICALS TO CORN AND COTTON ON THE FARM AND WAS LANDING TO PICK UP ANOTHER LOAD OF CHEMICALS. UPON LANDING TO THE WEST THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE RIGHT BRAKE FELT 'MUSHY' AND THEN WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE AIRCRAFT THEN BEGAN TO VEER TO THE LEFT AND THE LEFT MAIN GEAR DROPPED OFF THE RUNWAY SURFACE INTO THE GRASS. HE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY FULL POWER TO THE ENGINE TO CORRECT THE DRIFT BUT THE AIRCRAFT'S LEFT WING HIT THE CORN TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY AND THE DRAG SPUN THE AIRCRAFT AROUND AND INTO A DITCH. THE PROPELLER WAS BENT, THE ENGINE BROKEN, THE LANDING GEAR DAMAGED, AND THE WINGS DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA13LA318](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA13LA318), Jul 8, 2013: Grumman Acft ENG Cor-Schweizer G-164B (N6651K), Beaufort, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: A failure of the right brake for reasons that could not be determined because a postaccident examination of the brake could not be performed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
