## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A STUDENT PILOT PROPERLY ENDORSED FOR SOLO FLIGHT WAS PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS AT JEAN AIRPORT.

THE SOLO STUDENT HAD MADE ONE LANDING ON RWY. 22 AND WAS MAKING A SECOND LANDING ON 22 WHEN HE EXPERIENCED A CROSSWIND GUST FROM THE RIGHT DURING THE FLARE, WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO DRIFT LEFT.

THE STUDENT FAILED TO CORRECT THE DRIFT AND THE AIRCRAFT BROKE OFF A RUNWAY LIGHT WITH THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR LEG.

DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS VERY MINOR WITH JUST THE LEADING EDGE OF THE GEAR FAIRING DENTED IN.

THE STUDENT RETURNED TO NORTH LAS VEGAS AIRPORT FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
