## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE TWO THIRDS THE WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY, BUT WOULD NOT GAIN ALTITUDE. SEEING APPROACHING TREES, HE ELECTED TO MAKE A SHALLOW RIGHT TURN. THE AIRCRAFT SNAGGED A BARB WIRE FENCE AND PANCAKED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AT THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY, RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, AND MINOR SAFETY BELT BRUISING TO THE OCCUPENTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN13CA423](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN13CA423), Jul 20, 2013: Beech C23 (N377TT), Augusta, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot did not obtain adequate airspeed and clearance from obstructions during a grass field takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
