## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STUDENT PILOT WITH A TOTAL TIME OF 27 HOURS WAS ON THIRD SOLO UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF HIS INSTRUCTOR. HE WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT KBMQ. ON HIS SIXTH ATTEMPT HE DID NOT FLARE PROPERLY AND BOUNCED FROM CENTER LINE OF THE RUNWAY TO RIGHT OF CENTER LINE. HE TRIED TO KEEP THE AIRCRAFT ON THE GROUND RATHER THAN GO AROUND, APPLIED LEFT BRAKE AND GROUND LOOPED TO THE LEFT. HE TRAVELED OFF THE PAVED PART OF THE RUNWAY AND GOT INTO THE GRASS ALMOST DOING A 180 DEGREE TURN. THE RIGHT MAIN TIRE DUG INTO THE SOFT GRASS AND BROKE THE MAIN GEAR AT THE MAIN GEAR TRUSS. THE RIGHT WING TIP HIT HARD CAUSING BUCKLING IN THE RIGHT WING SKIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
