## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DESCRIPTION OF DEVIATION:

ARRIVING BRUSSELS AIRLINES A-330 WAS GIVEN GATE 45 BY RAMP TOWER. PILOT USED THE NARROW-BODY LINE FOR GATE 45 INSTEAD OF THE WIDE-BODY LINE FOR GATE 45A. BOTH LINES LEAD TO THE SAME GATE. BY OVERSHOOTING THE LINE FOR GATE 45A, THE AIRPLANE NARROWLY MISSED THE LEFT WINGWALKER AND DID NOT STOP BEFORE STRIKING THE RIGHT WINGTIP OF QATAR B-777 (A7BAF) WITH HIS LEFT WINGTIP. THIS CAUSED STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO QATAR WHO WAS PARKED AT THE ADJACENT GATE. DAMAGE TO THE A-330 WAS LIMITED TO REMOVAL OF THE WINGLET AND AND DISPATCH WITH IT REMOVED.

## Other aircraft in the event

- A7-BAF, Boeing B-777: no report for this aircraft in the release

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
